apparently Out of Time is some city pop s***? Anyone have any recs of similar music
Trilogy one of the greatest albums oat
After Hours and Dawn FM are classics
Being a fan of one era doesn't exclude liking another
I was dangling a carrot
I think people need to check their bias. We hear this ALL the time
Trilogy is not his best work at all, his last two albums are better significantly, not even close, lyric wise, production wise, sound design wise, etc
Aspiring musicians shouldn’t be afraid to make music and put out their first work because the general public will somehow think it’s the best thing they could ever do and everything they do after isn’t as good.
Good artists are ALWAYS improving.
I remember listening to glass table girls like a week ago and boy did that s*** sound awful. Abel couldn’t even sing on key.
It’s wild how people just cling on to something cause that’s what they grew up on and don’t even realize it’s because of bias.
Good kid is not Kendricks beat
Trilogy is not Abels best
Chanel Orange is not Frank’s Best
Old cartoons aren’t better
Old XYZ isn’t better than new XYZ, you’re just biased cause the old is what you grew up on.
I have a friend that used to be a huge weeknd fan when trilogy came out. He fell off following his career because he didn’t like the “pop” direction he was taking with BBTM and Starboy.
He hits me up today and says this is his fav album since trilogy.
How’s that work if BBTM and Starboy were too much pop lmao.

he just didn't explain correctly

subjective king
This man is absolutely determined not to use those collector’s edition covers huh
Don’t think this is the actual “deluxe” imo
I remember he did this with after hours, dropped some remixes and called it a “deluxe” before putting those on a separate remix album and dropping the real deluxe with the bonus tracks
Oh god he’s coming for the OCD streaming library folks again
I’ll be honest, even if this is it I’m satisfied
Edit: that’s cap I already thought of something else needed for a deluxe in my next post lmao
Moth To A Flame exactly where it belongs
need an Alternate World version of Tears In The Club though

few of my mates who lost interest after Trilogy/KL have said similar

Probably just cause BBTM & Starboy are modern pop while this is is more experimental throwback pop
I always liked Starboy tho
Agents Of Time
this remix is hard as f***
Ok I’m fully going back on being satisfied with the deluxe, he needs to do a whole ass remix album with other artists from this scene. Imagine an Alternate Worlds remix of How Do I Make You Love Me by Mind Against
Out Of Time by Adriatique
Gasoline by Keinemusik
Don’t Break My Heart by Eli & Fur
I made a playlist with select songs from each project just to see how they would line up/sound next to each other when you alternate track by track and I gotta say… this s*** is sounding f***ing AMAZING

He also just told me he doesn’t remember if he listened to after hours or not

tbh the single was hitting but no-one I know really gave a f*** about the album, so again that tracks with me
but you could argue that Dawn FM is getting the rub from the success of Blinding Lights, which obv AH couldn't get, difficult to say really

Yeah it’s interesting to see how others that aren’t fully invested listen to the various projects

My boss who isn’t really that big of a Weeknd fan but followed the release of this one loved it, so hopefully that’s an indicator
