That’s not a case of the doctor f***ing up, just simply that most times when you get surgery on your vocal chords (vocal nodules), your voice will often change permanently. This could be a slight change (see Adele) or it could permanently damage your singing voice forever.

Nah there’s a chance the doctor can mess up and cut too much of your vocal folds if you require that kind of surgery, which will result in not being able to sing the same way or at all

I’m saying even if the surgery goes 100% smoothly there’s a still good chance your voice won’t be the same as it was pre-surgery

A female alter ego. The girl voice effect in the Birds Interlude was quite nice, and not easily distinguishable being Abel singing.

Prince did it with Camille. Frank did it as a tribute, with the pitched voice, say, in Nikes, Self Control, etc.
