......okay well going off of the actual reason why he got snubbed.

The Weeknd was approached by the Grammy committee to perform at this year's Grammy awards and he was actually on board to do that. However, he had also already been tapped by the NFL to perform for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Abel still said he would perform at the Grammy's, however the Grammy committee would not allow him to do that. It was either perform at the Grammy's and also receive nominations, or perform at the SB and not be allowed at the Grammys this year or receive nominations.

If you're still going to sit here and be against The Weeknd for basically telling the Grammy committee to f*** off and not get in the way of his money and putting on a show at what would be a major point in his career I don't know what to tell you. The Grammy committee tried to control where and when he can perform and their only bargaining chip were Grammy awards. Something that he already has three of. Man chose his career over awards, and the Grammy committee couldn't stand that.

Why should he continue to want to submit his music to such a spiteful organization? They already made it clear that it isn't really about the music if they took away his nominations because they didn't wanna share performers.

Because they're committees of genre experts that decide the nominees for certain categories.

A few years ago they implemented a hip-hop committee instead of just letting all Grammy voting members (primarily old and white) decide the nominees. It's why Eminem is no longer nominated every time he drops a project and why someone like Gibbs is now picking up nominations.

The committee is getting a little too dusty for my tastes though. Snubbing Roddy and Baby was a little too much.
