Regardless of how I felt about the album to ignore it's impact and not even acknowledge it with nominations despite it being...not even one of, but literally thee biggest album released in 2020 is wack as s***, and it does make me question the validity/credibility of that awards show in discussion.

FreightBecause they're committees of genre experts that decide the nominees for certain categories.
A few years ago they implemented a hip-hop committee instead of just letting all Grammy voting members (primarily old and white) decide the nominees. It's why Eminem is no longer nominated every time he drops a project and why someone like Gibbs is now picking up nominations.
The committee is getting a little too dusty for my tastes though. Snubbing Roddy and Baby was a little too much.
