Unless youâre an artist, work with artists, or have any ACTUAL understanding of ASCAP, people need to sit these discussions out.
The amount of actual effort necessary to fake songs, get them with the right credits, appropriate tags. Thereâs hoops to jump through, Iâve had to help friends out with making sure people were contacted for publishing rights and companies.

Weeknd & Anitta rumored to have a collab in the works for a while now.
Anitta is doing a Halftime Show for the first NFL game in SĂŁo Paolo, on Friday the 6th.
Weeknd is doing an album reveal live show in SaĂľ Paolo on Saturday the 7th.
And now the NFL posts a promo video with an official snippet of what sounds like a Brazilian funk record with Weekndâs vocals on it.
If this is actually an Anitta song featuring The Weeknd, then it begs the question why didnât they use a snippet with her vocals on it and why hasnât she posted this promo yet?
Thereâs a solid chance this could be the first single, which would make a ton of sense with this show happening in SĂŁo Paolo of all places, but it would be a very interesting and unexpected direction for the first single of this album
Thereâs a chance it could be a joint single (The Weeknd & Anitta), but whatever it is, itâs most likely on this upcoming Weeknd album.
I canât see him dropping both a single for his own album and being featured on another major artistâs single on the same day, so whatever this is will likely be the only Weeknd music dropping next week.
Also, if she is featured, it would be the first non-solo lead single from a Weeknd album
It would also be his first album single with a feature since Live For, which is crazy to think about
