i love the fact that in DITF he is being guided, âso grab the wheel, want you to be in controlâŚyou say hold tight.â seems to me to be a bit of a nod to Virgil (Danteâs guide in the divine comedy). this may seem like a stretch until we consider the chorus (ââŚweâll be dancing in the flamesâ) being in reference to a christian/catholic idea of hell. and i suspect even those haunting looking trees are in reference to a specific marsh in Danteâs hell where a group of people have been turned into trees. this is furthered by a smaller hint of him saying âanother odysseyâ which is likely referencing homerâs odyssey, which is also referenced in the divine comedy directly.
even him saying, âi canât wait to see your faceâ seems to be a reference to the whole inciting reason of danteâs journey to paradise, which is to be reunited with his love. it seems like abel is referencing how tight of a path he must follow to reach paradise, (maybe referencing the spiderâs thread⌠@Abyssus ) and how if they fall off this path (âif i miss the brakeâ) they will be âdancing in the flames.â
i have a feeling this song is pretty indicative of the overarching story of this albumâŚ

Wild that the movie was already an inspiration to both Daft Punk and Abel and then he ended up losing his voice... Life imitating art đ
