bobbymfs prob hated blinding lights on first listen too lets be honest, but now that song is universally loved (not saying DITF will reach that level of success)
Oh niggas definitely didnât like Blinding Lights when it released, I think it got the same criticisms that DITF is getting right now. Too poppy, too cheesy, bland, etc.

Song is DEFINITELY not trash. It's really safe but catchy. If any other popgirl came out with it, it would be beloved but we ain't even gonna get into that. its obv weeknd got diff expectations but we still gotta remember he is a full blown popstar, ofc the single will be for the radio and general population

I disagree. Blinding lights was loved by almost everyone that heard it on first go. I remember everyone praising him for both singles as one was pop other was trap R&B
