You talking about the first single from Kiss Land in 2024 my brother
LMAO, they really think he some kind of underground R&B artist still... this man is selling out stadiums in america to asia... he's gonna be straight pop that anyone can understand and have it be catchy to the ear, english or not
Yea I am very annoyed to be honest. If this was like 3-4 singles into the album cycle it would be fine.
BUT DAWG THIS IS THE FINAL PART OF THE TRILOGY YOUR ASS HAS BEEN TEASING SINCE 2022. IM NOT TRYNA SEE NO DAMN IPHONE 16 PROMO FOR THE REINTRODUCTION FOR THIS UNIVERSE WE'VE BEEN IN SINCE 2020.
im crashing out i dont care
Nothing he releases moving forward will be. That is a once-in-a-generation type hit
they not gon understand that... every single he released since BL has been compared to it.... guess thats the aftereffect of having the BIGGEST charting song ever...
song would be much better if the "Odyssey" parts were belted and had more energy like the live version. i don't know why it's so laid back on cdq
Not hitting as much as the live version on first couple listens
Go back to bed man
Itâs decent, a little generic. Donât know if this song will move the needle at all but it is what is. Preferred the live version with stripped back into
I mean does every song (even for an artist of his statue) have to always reinvent the wheel?
listening to the live version for the first time.. this arrangement is 10x better what was he thinking
You talking about the first single from Kiss Land in 2024 my brother
good music is good music no matter what year and kissland, melancholy have way better art direction and music than this first single
idc if theyre 80 years old

Yeah I mean I hate the Abel is a sell out argument just because he makes pop but this one just feels hollow. After hours and dawn were pop as it comes but the videos still had an artistic vision. Feels like he took a bag on this single but who knows, maybe it fits into the larger narrative somehow
Main synth line reminds me of some early MGMT s***, I get who ever said it sounds 2010s
yeah very late 00s and early 2010s
Grind time brother
Well donât listen to this song cus youâll be zzzing again within seconds
I mean does every song (even for an artist of his statue) have to always reinvent the wheel?
oh no lol you dont understand yet? Weeknd doesn't get judged like every other pop artist...
I mean does every song (even for an artist of his statue) have to always reinvent the wheel?
True but based on other songs weâve heard this feels safe. SĂŁo Paulo or even wake me up feel like way more interesting choices despite being pop

Live version is better for sure

You clearly just donât enjoy pop music, thatâs fine
The live version definitely added more personality to the song. Is it bad? No, but Wake Me Up will be a banger when it releases.
I need wake me up studio version asap
I mean does every song (even for an artist of his statue) have to always reinvent the wheel?
imo the lead single should, BUT i get why they did this after dawn
oh no lol you dont understand yet? Weeknd doesn't get judged like every other pop artist...
I love his pop songs but on first listen this feels very safe. Even the live version with the beat waiting to come in felt much more soulful

This ain't Blinding lights or Can't Feel My Face Weeknd. Those were inspired
