I am the kind of person who likes to spoil myself ahead of anything that’s being released because I just love the feeling of hearing something new before the general world does

With that being said, I think Abel is doing things he’s never done before in a rollout + this being his last as The Weeknd’s is throwing everybody off…I trust Abel hasn’t come this far just to come this far so I know there are amazing things ahead of us

Just gotta trust him on this one! He hasn’t missed his entire career…I know he got this and if he don’t everyone is allowed a ‘miss’ every once in a while

It’s not even a vibe. I can name 5 tracks of the idol soundtrack which are miles better quality wise.

yeah i was surprised about that. i feel like you could still keep that carti verse uninterupted, in its pure form but build a stronger song around it. go into an actual hook that stands out and pops, then perhaps drops back into the regular beat with weeknd's verse.

but the carti verse, then a drawn out weeknd thing that just feels like it goes in circles without the beat changing much feels kinda underbaked.

Like a god, jealous man, false idols, lesser man, take me back.. are all quality album cuts. Crazy that those are left overs for the weeknd

While that is cool and all. As someone who grew up on AOL. I miss a time when artist had less interviews, no social media and rollouts were like "oh s*** I heard it on the radio did you hear it too". Oh s*** the artist put out an ad in a newspaper or cryptic website that takes 2 minutes to load. This situation of constantly wanting access to information is both really dope and at times really bad. Back then at least artist were making guaranteed cd sales and someone had to purchase or in my case rent from the library or limewire and risk a virus.

Now we can listen for free , stream for less than a penny to the artist. Have remixes instantly. AI of the Weeknd singing any song we want. This desire to be the cutting edge to hear the music first before everyone else some times people feel "I get anxiety if I dont know whats coming. " thats okay but like demos, leaks, playing songs live when they are CDQ and you are going to make no updates to them of any kind

Basing your release on an iPhone Ad or what moves the most and its not even music videos with stories you are dropping. Still no release date is dismaying. He easily hasn't missed

But just as I miss concept albums ( I know this one will have a concept) . I miss rollouts that showed more care and respect to the artist vision rather than feeling cash grabby as if any of these ceos are starving
