You are bringing back so many memories with these posts.
I probably shouldn't be sharing this but it speaks to the power of art...

Back in '08-9 I was preparing a bunch of music to eventually play for MJ for whenever he decided to do a comeback... This Is It got announced few days before my birthday and my girlfriend at the time could get us VIP tickets and was trying to get me access to meet him in some way... June 25th happened and my ex broke up with me as the news hit as she knew I would be a completely broken man. I gradually got more and more depressed and was almost homeless by the end of 2010 and I was giving up on life and music... Out of nowhere while scrolling on Tumblr I hear this other dude sounding like Mike and it was not a fad like many were doing at the time, it was someone with a genuine artistic vision that just somehow sounded a bit like Mike. I went straight back to creating again and instantly had a purpose. "If this guy can put his own spin on things then so can I" I lost harddrives with 100's of songs and I didn't care, I just kept creating because the joy of it and the purpose was more important.

I owe Abel A LOT for taking the first steps on his journey and what that eventually inspired.. I'm not sure I would be alive today had I not found that purpose back then. We take it for granted what our bravery might ignite in others.. Heck I didn't even know my Aggrotech / Industrial band back in '07 had started a new underground rave scene in my country. I didn't discover that before searching for if there was any leftovers floating around online about my band... And then I found an interview with one of my friends that listed my band being one of his main inspirations for venturing into creating a scene. I had no idea as I never shared my music or talked about it... he had just admired it from a far...
We ultimately never know what we might kickstart with our moves and that's why we can't be afraid to do what we truly love, we never know who is watching and who needed that affirmation in that moment.

I’m happy you were able to get out of that space and continue with what gives you joy!

We’re fortunate he’s the songbird of our generation, an absolute generational talent and auteur we are not going to see again.

Life is a beautiful thing and we just don't know what's around the corners waiting for us on this journey. I would never change any of it.. There is always a new chapter, heck you can even start a journey down a new path...

Allegedly this was one of his youtube channels -- it had 2 or 3 songs uploaded before 2011, but it seems they were deleted

Yeah, I remember seeing his posts on ktt1, and I asked him cause the pics were so nice, and he also had some backstories to share

Right now, I tried to google if I could find the discussion, but for the few minutes I searched, I didn't find much

    Here's one from ktt2
(Sorry, don't know how to direct link to a post, scroll to his comment, or ctrl+f mokie)

Ps. Of course, this until the man checks his notifications, and if he has some time to kill, and wants to share stories with the us other weeknd fans 😄

A screenshot of one of his comments below. Also he shared some pics, but the image hoster says unavailable. Maybe they expired? 8+ years have passed lol

This is incredible, that batch of photos on his Facebook have always been some of my favorites of him, ever. They’re so raw and perfectly capture that time period. I knew Mokie was an OG but I had no idea he was THAT involved wow haha
