It’s crazy to think about how The Weeknd has been running music since Covid hit us, and ushered in the whole 80’s revival

Weeknd turned it into a new level but I feel like the 80s revival thing was already happening

was 80s music as a theme common in 2019 before he dropped Blinding Lights? seems to me he’s the first mainstream artist to do it

edit: dua lipa dropped don’t start now in october 2019 but don’t think it fits the “80s” theme for me

80s pop music is lowkey a subgenre of pop music now
