my first listen was completely eye-opening. he is genuinely an all time great. i always thought i was biased

Wake Me Up is a a true career highlight that showcases his mastery across all influences man

you have the:
1. cinematic, multifaceted intro/overture
2. moroder scarface passages
3. strings
4. and finally you have the throwback disco and funk that heavily recalls thriller/victory era grooves BUT at the same time borrows from modern production and JUSTICE (another of his huge influences - french scene)

@maruchinn I wonder what was the "Purple Rain" track they talked about would close off the album before release ?

two full listens. this one simply is not hitting for me.

Open Hearts and Give Me Mercy are the two records I really love. there are a few other ones I think are alright.

as far as this new trilogy goes, it's the worst entry for me. was not expecting to like it less than After Hours, and I won't even come close to enjoying this as much as Dawn FM.

The Weeknd has given me enough music I adore over the last 15 years so I'm not even really trippin. maybe some of it will grow on me.
