I think people were anticipating an actual score since the album is already basically the “soundtrack” for the film

I mean there is a score too ... (My guess)

But people were expecting the “soundtrack” for the film to be the score only, not new Weeknd songs

I still don’t think it’s for a soundtrack. Would be too confusing to have two separate music related projects out for one film. The studio album is the soundtrack for this film. I think we’ll end up getting a Deluxe with some extra versions that’s touted as the “Film Edition” or something like that
