When he told her that he was interested in living at the monastery too I took her disappointment as "what I'm doing isn't as special as I thought" or "I'm indirectly sabotaging his life too" instead of being annoyed he's tagging along

there was like 2 scenes i recall where lochlan and piper had a talk about staying and honestly, i read her face as annoyed. she wants to distance herself from her family (her words to her mothers face in regards to not being raised properly). she’s not able to escape her family so she just submits to the lap of luxury

What I actually dislike about White Lotus is that the final departure episodes seem very rushed to me and certain mini plots are quickly resolved

Like in the 2nd season when the dude is just casually like "yea I got played" and that's it haha

i felt that way initially. but i think the reality is she's more like her family than she was letting on, and something she was probably grappling with, and it was being at the monastery for the night that really let it sink in for her

i definitely did have the train of thought of she's faking it to either 1)get away from loch, or 2) feeling it's her "thing" and she wants it to be only hers

but i think ultimately she's just like her family: unable to live simply. I also think mike white intended it to have it be viewed by people this way, and at the end of the day this is just my interpreation. her breakdown in front of timothy and veronica seemed pretty earnest and genuine though and her character wasn't a liar really. idk though. have you heard about the deleted /cut scene? maybe its already been discussed itt tho
