S01E01 here we go
Okay so I wanted to finish the first season before I gave my thoughts.
I thought the editing was very interesting, there's A LOT of off-camera action and plot that occurs that normally would be shown on any other show. Certain murders, arrests, events and conversations that were completely cut from screen-time. Very peculiar but also oddly satisfying at times for the show to get right to the point
Really loved the mysteriousness of Avon & Stringer Bell in the first several episodes, almost painting them as enigmas, very cool. Both of them have to be some of the coolest characters ever!
Jimmy is an absolute cuck. Really liked the guy in the first couple episodes, thought he was getting s*** on unfairly but as the show goes on, he just comes off as an elitist prick who questions anyone that doesn't have the same ideas as him, for someone who barely did jack s*** in the case he sure got pissed off a lot.
I found everyone in the police side other than Daniels and Freamon, pathetic. Bunch of cops who pretend to care about the well-being of the projects but are in-fact in it for the "career case".
The side characters in the pit were all really interesting with lots of depth. Noticed how a lot of the events take place at the pit rather than between the higher ups, almost like they're building that foundation first
Omar is incredible!
Curious to see where and how the second season goes, they really gonna stretch this case to 5 seasons?
Also, nice to finally get context behind this -

Oh yeah keep giving your takes as you progress through the series, you’re def paying attention to the right things. I love seeing first time watchers react to greatness
Nothing even touches this for me, and I doubt anything ever will.
That f***in' moment in season 4 when Carver has to leave that one kid in the group home absolutely wrecked me on my recent rewatch
literally just came across this an hour ago
Man this has to be the most cruel storyline of this show.. Randy got ran over by everyone that was supposed to protect him
reminds me of when herc was supposed to be there for bubbles but he consistently f***ed up. he pissed me off for that
yeah i can def see that.
didnt want my post to sound like breaking bad is like the worst show oat or anything like that, to me it just doesn't rank that high in the goat shows.
there are still ppl who dont like season 2 blows my mind honestly, that season is so giving especially on rewatches.
i get being thrown off at the change of scenery from the streets to the docks yet you still got the streets stuff in that season, although muted but stil..
and frank is such a tragic but amazing written character, just how that whole s*** starts from some pettiness over a f***ing window in a church is just so tragically funny as well.
im def that guy who was initially not pleased with the switch from streets to docks but it turned out to be one of my fav seasons. brilliant
The writing in the third season got me hooked on the show again after the surprise from season 2's setting. The re-establishment of the wire and the promotions and moves that Stringer was starting to plot. I also see the fall of Avon and Stringer's relationship as the biggest climax to all of the show. Chris and Marlo were always cool so we never got to see hwat conflict between them really look like besides the prison scene when Marlo is shouting his name haha
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibaw8vmmdEUseason 3 had a lot of good endings
MY NAME IS MY NAME. YUUUUGHHH
they just slit his throat and tossed him into the sea my man frank didn't deserve that
also love the scene near the end when valcheck opens the last postcard from the van that frank shipped around the world to piss him off
"aww frank you cocksucker "
I love how his pic looks like a damn mug shot
I think it was in season 3, when I believe Omar was briefly at the docks and u saw that re-elect poster....man

oh yea it def has a mugshot type quality to it
poor frank man still
Butchie still the hardest/toughest mf to walk these streets
Cheese was an a****** foreal would do anything for that paper
he def bled green

idk if you've started season 2 already, and I don't wanna spoil anything but it low-key gets stretched but not for the entire show. you'll prolly be in for a surprise with the direction they go in s2.

idk how to spell it correctly but f*** it, let's just stick with Prezbo lol
btw, does anyone remember if they ever showed Burrell approaching Carver to act as an insider in the detail unit, on camera in season 1? I kept trying to find it but had no luck. I just saw Daniels call up Carver and catching him being the mole.

No scene with Burrell and Carver. Just slight hints thru season one that there's a rat in his unit
one of my fav scenes in the whole show is still when carver and herc buy that expensive ass surveillance bug and place it in that tennis ball and then frog throws the ball away and the truck hits it
I was in tears, that scene
It definitely feels like the conclusion of one era and the introduction of another. They handled it very well. I never really noticed that aspect of the deaths in season 3, interesting observation
The 3rd season literally starts with the high rise projects being blown up to mark a new era in Baltimore, but we see that its still the same game.
The opening scene of each season is the message statement for that season.

True true. What's your fave season
