Now I know this might be recency bias playing a role, but Season 5 gets high marks from me
Loose ends tied up, character arcs arriving at their assumed destinations, enough twists to make my pants thoroughly shat, and a really good send off and “where are they now?”’s
I feel content with Season 5s progression. It was a Best Of compilation of all the seasons prior, and felt like the natural release of so much tension and build up. It always felt like the shows biggest theme were incompetence, neglect, and small choices that reverberate strongly over time and I believe that last point holds one of the biggest themes and its the X- factor.
The game is the game and that is to say anything can happen; there are never any rules because rules must apply equally to be rules. No matter how many times someone, on anyones side, tried to plan their big break they f***ing crumbled because they couldn’t overcome the things you can’t expect. Or maybe, ignored. Because they tried to apply logic to an illogical system. They all shoulda been more like Clay Davis, the Ultimate Conartist. He is what Stringer tried to be, who Avon should’ve been, and who Marlo almost did . That things always sound good on paper until they don’t, and they got burnt for things they shouldve reconciled with first instead of assuming wouldnt happen cuz “the game”. The x factors
Only those that carved a game for themselves, a life based on a rejection of the game, found happiness. Shoutout Bubbles, Prezbylwzcki, Cutty, Colvin, Naymond, and Carver to some extent.
Fantastic show, fantastic season. I can’t see a reason to give it any less than an 8/10
I’m genuinely not sure why it was so hated. Aside from it feeling a little far fetched at times, I also didn’t find it hard to believe that the characters were incapable of making the decisions they did
just finished it and holy s***
also yesterday i found out that its canon that cheese is randy’s dad, prop joe wouldve LOVED randy i wish he aint say nothing abt that murder 🤦🏾♀️
That just reminds me that cheese is by far my least favorite character on here

I know this is gonna probably be an unpopular opinion, but season 3 was probably my least favorite. It had some of the best moments but as a whole I feel like the other 4 have redeeming qualities
Top 3 probably 4, 5, and 2

I can respect that. Some people never got around to season 2. My top 3:
S3
S2
S4

I’ve never disliked season 2. In fact I wish season 2 didn’t make them shy away from a heavier focus on different characters. Season 2 was the only season where it felt like the MAIN focus wasn’t on police work which I wish the other seasons leaned into a bit more
halfway through s5 on my rewatch and I swear ive only heard 3 "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit"s from Clay Davis. they cut them out on max or im not paying attention? swear he said that s*** like 30 times the first time I watched
