The same way that a lot of people go from opiates to heroin/fentanyl is the same way people go from ADHD meds to meth
Breaking news
Fentanyl is prescribed
I went from taking Vyvanse 70mg to trialing Adderall XR 25mg, and I'm picking up 30mg tomorrow because my current dose was a step-down from Vyvanse
I take my medication in the morning, feel somewhat calmer after about an hour, then go about doing my work for the day without getting distracted by my thoughts racing or feeling craving to do more exciting things
I get zero motivation from Adderall, I don't get hyper, don't start talking fast, and don't twitch
People who stigmatize these medications and people who need them kinda suck
I was a straight-A pre-med college student for 3 years before getting prescribed stimulants
Long-term, all they do is help reinforce routines and make the decision to do what you should be doing slightly easier, as well as helping you stay on task for longer

I'm thinking about poppin addys. Would you recommend? I got s*** to do but i can't will myself to get it done
I thought ADHD was about people not being able to remain focused for more than 5 mintues?
People with adhd are in the bottom 10 percentile of short term memory. I have no object permanence without adderall I can’t function.

I mean if you take them once in a while yeah you'll get hyperproductive but tolerance to that effect builds quickly since it's not the intended therapeutic effect

Facts
The day I was forced to use a lower dose of Vyvanse because my current dose had run out, I forgot my brand new phone at my new job and locked the door behind me because I was zoned out
I was the last person working and didn't have a key
Adderall is trash anyways and makes you feel slow - someone with adhd who tried it once
Prob was making you anxious subconsciously
The feeling slow feeling tends to stem from that when I got it on Vyvanse
move on to vyvanse instead
this post was brought to you by Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc,
Vyvanse started to make me angry af and depressed smh
"A hyperactive disorder"
There´s a concensus amongst experts at this point that the name adhd should be changed cause it´s misleading and your argument is a perfect example. Not saying meditation wouldn´t help, every human being could benefit from meditation.
I mean hyperactivity is part of ADHD a lot of times tho, not for those who are just inattentive tho
I agree the name could be changed to something better maybe, idk what it would be tho

It is tho
Who needs meds when I can just MEDITATE my illnesses away
Who needs meds when I can just MEDITATE my illnesses away
I didn't say medication should be dismissed
Got any meditation resources to share?

Adderall empowers the mind
No doubt about that… til you gotta up it to the max dose to feel productive.
We’ve already had one account of many itt saying that it didn’t work out for them in the long term. I don’t think it’s an end all be all. More of a short term fix to those who seriously need it
It’s not really sustainable for a lot of people
Pseudoscience is so fun
Calling something pseudo science doesn’t make it completely untrue
I’ve done trial periods of time where I avoid phone usage vs being glued to my phone and my ADHD is exacerbated with more phone usage. I imagine I’m not the only person like this
Not gonna say that’s the sole reason for ADHD, but outside forces can definitely make it worse. Denying that is crazy
Wait are you saying that this is my first normal post, or you saying that this reinforces that I never do?
If you have to ask
Who needs meds when I can just MEDITATE my illnesses away
I can tell you’ve never given meditation a genuine try. Guarantee if you actually put effort into meditating every day for a couple minutes, you would feel somewhat calmer mentally. I’m not saying it’s a straight up cure. Medication can still have a place, but people need to be careful with it because it’s a slippery slope
