I think that's impossible like youtube servers would actually crash. Most is 69 or Eminem getting 70 million in 24 hours and that was stressful for the site
BTS gained 100.1M in 24hrs
Drake is a modern day version, he is at the highest an artist can be in our times and he has tied or passed a lot of his records but I get what you mean in op. He's not as far reaching but give him time Michael Jackson had decades and Drake is only starting his second
list of artists who were bigger than drake in their primes:
MJ
Prince
Queen
Madonna
ACDC
The Beatles
Adele
Will there be another kanye west ?
Never ever lol, people are too lazy and not bold enough nowadays to experiment and shift the culture as much as him

What numbers are you going off? If that was true why has Drake passed almost every record they held? Only a few left. I disagree strongly with Madonna and Adele but I wasn't really old enough for The Beatles or Queen

streaming and CD/LP era are hardly comparable anyways. but Madonna is the best selling female artist of all time. several of her albums sold 20-30 million WW. people went to stores and were willing to spend $15 on her music. the hype around her in the 80s and 90s was insane, she was constantly the hot topic, much more prominent than any artist nowadays. so she won with numbers (she also has more #1 hits but drake could beat that) and by headlines and hype. she also has some of the highest grossing tours ever.
As a representative of the mj is innocent committee, I must admit this song is a bop. Mainly because of “the way you make me feel” melody but that’s neither here nor there.
the superstar has been a dead concept for years now as mainstream culture is all but dead
everything is dividing more and more into niches audiences
No don’t say that. Wtf. This guy wants culture dead

I just mean people are quick to name someone the new Michael jackson prolly means we do. It would be nice to have someone unite these different niches at a time like this. Kinda like a symbol @americana

yes, because people still cling onto old cultural standards of this idea that culture must be concentrated on the living pantheon. we’re still transitioning to a culture that works best on our new digital medium and it’ll take a while for people who spent their entire lives growing up in one cultural system to get used to the next
give it 10-20 years
