This gen is whiny and entitled as if the artists owes you guys anything. It takes time to create art, when the artist isn’t seeing their vision theyre not gonna put it out until it’s their vision. Has nothing to do with what they “promise” you

I understand that and you’re right most people my age don’t seem to either. That being said, promising something to your fans or mentioning a project at all is going to give them a sense of entitlement no matter what. The blame is equally placed on the artist and the consumer

I try not to look at it in a selfish way, but artists can absolutely take too long to drop and it hurts their career/popularity. That's what I'm referring to when I say someone is taking too long to drop.

    Playboi carti for example

Not buying that Carti has lost hype at all. If he dropped a tweet today that said WLR tonight, he’s selling 100k first week

If you think he wouldn't have sold more 1 year ago (after Igor) you're delusional tho lol

we're inevitably gonna listen, but there is such a thing as gaining & losing momentum

e.g. carti's been doing this in circles

Carti is losing momentum to no one but forum dwellers like us. He just had the biggest feature of his career a few months ago

Lowkey their own fault for putting so much stock into artists who don’t have the talent to make that level of art

  • Oct 11, 2020

Carti is different from this due to the amount of pure bullshit that’s happened

its crazy how hard he fumbled ... if he'd dropped during that first round of leaks/post earfquake

Exactly what I'm saying. Sure now he can probably hit 100k+ fws but after Igor?? Would not be surprised at 150-230k

Even right after pain, which was received like s*** anyways, he would have sold better than now.

I would say here's hoping to a good album rollout but the rollout to die lit was f***ing trash tier (good music but bad rollout)

  • Oct 11, 2020

i waited 8 years for new fiona you can wait one more year for new carti

  • Thats assuming they end up putting out good music. Look what happened with Jay Electronica, he put out bad music and barely anyone was tryin to hear it. They longer we wait the better it has to be.

  • Oct 11, 2020

Depends tho, if the music isn’t good then the wait feels unjustified. Especially if they put out loosies/features between drops that are much better than what’s on the project. People are more forgiving if the music isn’t amazing but they drop semi-regularly because they are keeping the fanbase fed. Music entitlement is real unfortunately

Its cool to be excited or be dying for some new music but some people take it way too far in being entitled for it

  • Oct 11, 2020

The other thing is that with certain artists this era, they freestyle their songs and can make a song in like 10-20 minutes so when it’s that easy to make a song, the fans get upset that the music doesn’t come out because it’s not like they even put a lot of thought or effort into making the track where it would take a long ass time for some

    I might die

  • Oct 11, 2020
    blah

    I agree

There's enough music let artists take their time

I hate it when they say s*** like „good music takes time“.

BS 95% of the time. Like rihanna who supposedly worked on an album for 2 years only to cancel it you just know they did nothing.

you can see when the music is out how long they worked on it. Most of the people just take tactical pauses but the music gets produced in 2 months or so despite the fans waiting for years.

Or maybe .... she worked on album for 2 years and then decided it wasn’t what she wanted ? Just a thought
