How was Sylvie's Love?
also how about The Photograph?
I feel like we need a thread for "black movies" because they fly under the radar. Black Box was a solid sci fi flick

Also thanks, I've been looking for new movies to watch that has a mostly or all black cast
If this is even half as good as attack the block, it's gonna be classic
Loved how his homies really got bodied in that

Both are pretty bland and generic romance dramas. The aesthetic and music in Syvie's Love is good though. I feel like His House and The Forty-Year-Old Version are the most overlooked "black movies" last year.

I saw His House, it was decent, maybe just not my vibe a lil too slow for me.
I still gotta watch the Forty Year Old Version, my dad said it was good.

Yeah there should definitely be a thread. I was looking through JaeRell's recommos and I've only heard of like 4 of those movies.
I looked at trailers for some of em and they looked pretty cool

You should ask yourself why all those films JaeRell mentioned that you haven’t seen, flew under your radar. Especially when you have that opinion of “all they show us is trauma”

Feel like if you’re actually looking for these kinds of movies, they’re easy to find.

yea true but i meant on a broader scale not me. like i wish these movies where the ones that were the major ones not the queen and slims etc
so u want every black film to deal with us getting shot by police or how we are stuck in the hood or slavery etc?
im not saying that those films arent important but im saying can we get a film thats just giving us other themes, black ppl go thru more stuff than just racism
or s*** even just regular sci fi s***
like imagine if Tenet was just an all black cast. thats what im trying to say.
Check out the new series, Lupin, on netflix
Omar Sy as the lead
Might peep tonight
