Both are pretty bland and generic romance dramas. The aesthetic and music in Syvie's Love is good though. I feel like His House and The Forty-Year-Old Version are the most overlooked "black movies" last year.

I saw His House, it was decent, maybe just not my vibe a lil too slow for me.
I still gotta watch the Forty Year Old Version, my dad said it was good.

Yeah there should definitely be a thread. I was looking through JaeRell's recommos and I've only heard of like 4 of those movies.

You should ask yourself why all those films JaeRell mentioned that you haven’t seen, flew under your radar. Especially when you have that opinion of “all they show us is trauma”

im not saying that those films arent important but im saying can we get a film thats just giving us other themes, black ppl go thru more stuff than just racism
or s*** even just regular sci fi s***
like imagine if Tenet was just an all black cast. thats what im trying to say.
