Doing some research now and I see there’s much more than the kindle. Is that still the best option or should I be open to others?

ngl getting an older kindle off eBay and emailing yourself books you download from b-ok and other sites is the way to go if u are broke and tryna read. its like 40 bucks for a decent used kindle and that's free books until it dies

i have a kobo clara, so worth. and its super fire cause you can download your own pdfs and epub files to it.

Have a Kindle and a regular iPad. Kindle is best for reading because it’s so similar to an actual book and easy on your eyes, newer ones have built in backlights too. iPad honestly is pretty comfortable to read on but it’s heavy and gets annoying after a while. All in all if I can only carry one device the iPad is more convenient because it’s not primarily an e reader but if you’re using it exclusively for reading kindle is much better. If you have Prime Student Amazon is running a deal right now to get a Kindle for $45 off.

This is why I want to get an Ipad or tablet, buying comics/graphic novels are way too expensive and I don’t want to read them on my computer

Same. I’ve tried so many times. But I need the physical in hand. I bend that s***, write notes in them, leave index cards of notes in them. Just feels so good. I also like the looking at my bookshelf with all the finished books.
