Spotify is more of a social music listening platform, whereas AM is more of a personal music listening platform. Spotify is good for seeing what your friends are listening to & discovering artists that people with similar tastes as you listen to. AM is good for curating your own library and fixing up every detail to your liking, especially if you have songs that aren’t on streaming services in your library.

I switched because Neil Young was my top 1 last few years running, miss Spotify a LOT way better UI but things like Spatial Audio are cool and the video selection is neat and the sound quality is noticeably better all around.

is shuffle better on AM?

Spotify Shuffle sucks its like repeating the same songs on a 2k song playlist

Apple Music wiped out half of my music library, so be careful bruh

Only thing sucks about am is if you let your sub lapse and try and switch back you have to redownload your entire library

I haven’t used Spotify much but Apple shuffle in my experience is pretty mid too, it always plays the most popular songs or the ones you’ve listened to the most first, it’s super predictable
