kotaaaagreed. just frustrating we got to this point where we as fans have to completely restructure his projects so they fit any semblance of a well thought out album and not a playlist
Correct and idk how people can’t have that convo to begin with. Quick with the twitter fingers and personal attacks. Just the nature of online banter and it ain’t ever going away. Idk it is sad in a sense to me cause I look at Take Care sitting at 18 tracks and think damn. Even before the bonus tracks that’s a solid f***in album.
Sure people might not like some songs or whatnot but at least they seemed more effort was put in behind it. Sure that is subjective but idk some of these songs on the new album just are hollow to me. Could have easily been cut and say have this thing sit around 16-17 tracks idk. Just something better than what we actually got.

and i understand that but hes a smart guy, i think he realizes that he could put out an entire album of songs like lift yourself by kanye and still sell 200-250k. his gauge of success shouldn't be sales at this point of his career. i thought he got that when HNVM came out

Yup. But I can't say what is better yet because the highs feel higher and the lows lower on FAT D. We will see.
On the "album" piece: It might be contractually that he calls everything album in order to get out of his deal quicker.

nah i love the production. i think its far and away the best part of this album. they did incredible

man listening to this album was exhausting, it felt drawn out, bloated and phoned in. when people give drake criticism for pandering to everyone/popular trends I disagree 9/10 times however it seems like this was the case for half of the album.
23 tracks. 23 tracks in which maybe a handful of songs this man was saying something of value. im not even the type to want drake to be on his lyrical miracle s***, lmao the type of drake I love the most is when hes in his RnB bag. but man, hearing s*** like "you put the no in monogamy" and the 200th ai generated bisexual line from drake really made me wanna turn ts off.
do we really need another 21 collab where 21 saying the same s*** just worded differently. do we really need drake hopping on a great yeat track and offering nothing more than a verse that doesn't fit the style he's jacking?
i was so excited for this album but it honestly feels like a chore to listen to all the way through. at least we got 3 modern classics in Drew a Picasso, 8 Am in Charlotte, and Members Only

People be so opinionated it be funny to me man
I guess I have a different perspective because I work in the biggest studio in Atlanta as an engineer on a regular basis (a lot of Her Loss was recorded where I work) and I know how much work goes into the most minuscule performance.
I know that if I left the studio with any of these tracks after putting in some work I’d be extremely impressed with myself and everyone involved 😂 This s*** is not as easy as he makes it look and I think that s*** is lost on people fr
Like, I get some of the criticisms of how he moving but that’s personality s***, I separate that from the music. Everyone has their demons and most creatives get a little out there when they get mega star rich (MJ, Kanye etc) unless they are a hardened d*** dealer and shrewd businessman like Hov.
Idk man I’m different. I like the album, the music is fun and thoroughly entertaining. Why does it have to be anything else? Would it have been nice to get something more introspective or conceptual or “more mature”? Sure, I’d definitely be game for that but does that mean what we got is automatically trash since it’s not that? Not at all
People just be projecting who they WANT Drake to be and be mad that he’s actually his own human being and makes his own choices.

I really don’t like carti, he’s bottom tier for me. IMO FATD is entertaining, it’s fun, and it’s just really good music. I feel so fortunate I have the music taste I have to be amped every time I get to listen thru the album. Just like I can’t wrap my head around anyone liking carti, you can’t wrap your head around anyone like for all the dogs
