What's crazy is they could literally just go on social media and take the corny 'comedians' from there if they wanna go with this type of humor
guys like demetrius harmon and whatnot
FACTS
ALL THESE SOCIAL MEDIA CREATORS COULD BE CHANNELING THEIR ACTUAL TALENTS INTO AN ACTUAL CAREER
I get what you're saying at the end though, that's why I can see how it's f***ed up.
If they had included more of "white people trends" like breaking out into a fortnite dance or some corny ass s*** I could see that this wouldn't have been as controversial
werent all fortnite dances invented by black ppl

Yep. The skit itself shows why this is just blatantly unfunny and doesn't work.
Old/middle-aged white people who are dressed to look "young" while playing "young" individuals trying to harp on "young" people (which is weirdly being emphasized with only AAVE). It's like watching a live-action minion meme.
They're lacking in the self-awareness department and unironically punch themselves in the face with such bad writing to the point where it can come off as offensive.
People online talking about this and saying that Gen Z teenage "slang" is just white people appropriating black terms... thoughts?

Black people are ~11% of the population of America, but "black culture" is a huge part of our society. Black culture is probably the coolest part about America tbh so to me, I don't think Gen z'ers are trying to consciously be black, I think they're trying to be cool.
Just my 2 cents.

It's kind of like the "how do you do my fellow kids?"
but at the same time I think it may just be poking fun of the stereotypes of younger demographic though, I don't think it was intentionally trying to be funny.
