If you don't eat in the Metaverse, you die. Gotta create a whole new account.

i was under the impression this is a VR shopping portal for real life goods. so this cart would be delivered instacart / uber eats style to your real life home

    still, metaverse a scary slope

  • Jan 5, 2022

Still dumb but its just buying physical groceries to be delivered in a 3d interactive setting as opposed to scrolling a list of items on a website. Some of yall overreacting

I think it’s supposed to function the same as shopping online, now it’s just more physical

I'd rather be in a Walmart in the Metaverse than a Walmart in real life

seems like a horrible idea that completely defeats the point of internet shopping. the entire point of why internet shopping works is because it's easy, accessible, and fast. You can just type in what you want to a search bar and find it immediately, look at the reviews, then click add to cart alongside other things, and quickly check out . Removing all of these and forcing you to go through the same consumer experience as irl - but without the benefits of that (being able to check quality of goods, freshness, etc.) is completely backwards. The only possible benefit even remotely would be ability to more easily find new goods from looking at the shelves, but this doesn't actually benefit the consumer at all (and it also works on e-shopping sites anyway thanks to how pages are setup), it's an idea for brands without any actual consumer benefit or base
