GlentotheYou’ll have to forgive me as this is a silly thread to make but I have been a Kanye stan since I was around 10
-11 years old (I’m 29 now… old as f*** I know) and to see one of my idols fall so hard like this is genuinely so hard to take. I’m sure I’m not being presumptuous when I say this but, like many of you I have done mental gymnastics over the years to defend his antics, however, it’s now getting to the point where I can’t even speak on the man because the hatred for what he’s done is so intense (some people didn’t need an excuse to be fair) and they’d be right to a degree as his actions have been out of order. As I said at the top: apologies but I needed to vent. I can’t see how he comes back from this, which is mental because people still bump people who’ve objectively done way worse (R Kelly etc) but it is what it is.i feel like the mental gymnastics really kicked into high gear starting in 2016. i had his back 95% of the time previously even when his approach was off. then the trump s***, and now this. no thanks

Nov 3, 2022I feel this I'm 28. Slow Jamz was one of my first favorite rap songs and I followed him and supported him ever since. It's extremely sad to see where he has ended up. It feels like there's no redeeming himself from this either. Just gotta be thankful for all the GOOD years we had and try to seperate the art from the artist

Nov 3, 2022I’m a few years younger than you OP but I feel this 100%. Been a Kanye stan since middle school Yeezus era. The man has inspired me in countless ways. I’ve made my best friends to this day through our liking of Kanye. I’ve showed my little brothers the man’s music and it’s shaped their lives greatly too. Everyone’s known me as the big kanye west fan and now it’s just not the same. I can’t believe he’s doing this for no reason. Donda must be rolling in her grave. It’s so sickening.

Been a fan since The College Dropout too, and as you said OP, you do a mental gymnastic to try to understand him. And lately, it's been really tiring and difficult. So I just choose to stop to read anything related to him except in music.
At the end of the day, he's just a celebrity that we know through music and media. We don't know him personnally, so defending him or attacking him is time waisting.
The worst for people that are seeking for attention is to be ignored. So I choose to don't care and never go back.
