who runs to 8 mile when he actually had a career as a battle rapper
This thread and a lot of his fans that like him because he’s a white guy and not just off skill. Even his time as a battle rapper is overstated.
He gave Hov the worst beat on The Black Album and Renegade despite being a good song doesn't fit on The Blueprint sonically IMO
Should've mentioned his feats on Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Xzibit, Sticky Fingaz, Obie Trice, etc albums instead

You’re right to some extent but those artists fans that don’t care about the culture rarely have the thinly veiled racism with it. They also don’t run to a movie to call them gods of something they were very much a mortal at.
but what about this
I love the song but I'm not sure how much the beat contributes to that
I guess it works good for Em
Actually Nas gave meaning to stan when he called jay z. That’s when people started using it that way
Other than that I agree

Stan is Em song
I like Hov on renegade more
And y’all gotta stop running to 8 Mile to say he was battle rapper
He was a literal battle rapper though

His time as a battle rapper is overstated. He wasn’t what people act like he was.
Stan is Em song
Yeah but Nas used that term in Ether when he called Jay Z a stan. It didn’t have the same connotation before that
damn nvm that beat is trash haven't heard this in years
Em production aged like milk. Don't even get me started on his "Loyal to the Game" production.

he had some cool input on the massacre tho
also prod on fire by lloyd banks
and he def got better over the years with it imo
but yea those older beats all sound kinda clunky for the most part
rap is like a mountain
