Beyoncé’s music is really annoying to me because she relies on the strength of her voice way too much. It always feels like she’s trying to flex her throat when it just would be better if she took it easy. Kinda reminds me of a singer on The Voice or some s***. Artists like Doja Cat and Drake (just two random artists that came to mind) are much more enjoyable listens to me because, despite them having far more constrained vocal ranges (drake is just not a good singer let’s be honest), they know how to make be creative with their vocals to make catchy and easy-listening songs . Idk y’all can light me up in the thread, no disrespect to Beyoncé or Beehive sorry guys

Edit: Many are criticizing me for this opinion. I stand by it

Nah, that's a valid criticism of some artists but for me Beyonce does not do that and that's actually a point I like about her. She doesn't feel the need to flash her pipes. Like look at the last track she put out or some of her classics like Partition or Countdown.

Well, The new joint is why I wrote this. I feel like she didn’t need to go this hard on the hook. Makes no sense to me. Made it hard to listen to. Will concede that in spite of that, and in spite of what I wrote, she does get creative with the delivery . That was cool

Lol you’re an idiot. The point I was trying to make was that since she has a hammer, everything becomes a nail. I would compare it to a quarterback with a really powerful arm. Yea, the guy can throw 80 yards + on one knee, but that doesn’t mean the dude has to only throw (or mostly throw) deep passes on every passing play

i’m not the authority on house music but a lot of the 90s stuff i’ve heard had powerhouse vocals,. from black women especially.

Beyoncé absolutely does not do that. She sings effortlessly.
