I’m actually happy to see the “guest” and surface level listeners fade away and stop commenting on the genre We grew up and in love with hip hop when people were making lil wayne would be working @mcdonalds if tupac was still alive memes btw

They treated the 🐐 like this which is proof everything’s a cycle and even though we lost some young true creatives like XXXtentacion (the most polarizing since kanye/pac) I’m hopeful there’s more

Not only that but if hip hop truly sky dives in numbers and promotion for the next few years 📉 I’ll hope to see less rappers who only came up for money & clout. Nobody actually cares about the actual achievement of making it to the rap game anymore that’s the real problem. The lifestyle is their priority over art and we all see it cause that builds their wealth… can you blame them though?

Youngboy has truly changed my whole entire life. I was first a clueless, senseless individual, until YB. He took me under his wing and guided me through his delightful path. I have since then changed into a charming handsome man. I wish all other non-YB listeners will at last find this path as it will lead to the whole world being in harmony and peace at last. No single individual outshining others such as Kentrell has
been graced to us since the beginning of time.
When miracles like James Johnson Ill touch down to our planet, the clouds clear and the birds start chirping. I wouldnt be so surprised if YB is the reason we are able to breathe, eat, and hear everyday. When YB is played upon the ears of one, they come at peace, being able to outmaneuver and look down on others.
If one is not fond of YB, vou can take a observation out of the others, they are sad, unjoyful, and melancholy. They do not understand that would take a bullet for us, just as we would for him. It is truly enraging today that these who disrespect Youngboy are continuously allowed to withhold opinions
today. Youngboy i jus wanted to let you know ur my hero
At dark times when i feel i'm alone or i'm going thru things by myself I juss turn you on
Before my games i listen to you because you juss give me tht inspiration of energy
You are my king, You are who i look up to when i need a role model
Your my savior, You the one that makes me happy or feel i'm not alone in a lot of situations where i can't even find myself
You are my deliverer, You just put some source of energy and some source of inspiration in me that nobody else can
Kentrell when i first ever heard ur music i knew you was gon be great
I was juss blown on how a 16 year old can drop such great music.
Kentrell all 26 albums that you dropped are just peace to my ears and joy to my soul.
I did school projects on you, You stay in my airpods in school, Your juss great October 10, 2019 when you dropped that album Ai Youngboy 2 I juss knew you were the best rapper ever to be heard, played, and listen too.
Now that we made it this far i want to say thank you Kentrell Gaulden, I love you so much cuz.
You will forever be listened too

Okay but if the vultures leave hip-hop and it becomes good again, they will just come back. Gatekeeping needs to be embraced and incorporated wholeheartedly into hip-hop culture

You don’t think if gatekeeping stayed we’d still have as many female rappers as we do now? Or queer artists like Tyler and Lil Nas X? I mean that same era almost didn’t open its doors to Kanye

Like I hear what you’re saying, but gatekeeping still allows human bias in more severe ways

That really depends on the kind of gatekeeping you practice.
I think making hip-hop more overtly political and anti-establishment would be enough to scare away the usual suspects.
More songs about killing police officers please

I’d like that too I just don’t think selective gatekeeping is achievable. Unfortunately, the people who would gatekeep for the things you mention might still be the anti-feminine energy type to not let women or some fruity niggas share the space

it’s hard to gatekeep now when hip hop is the youth and social media , but it starts at celebrating artist that actually have stories to tell and quality production

you can call it crazy but x really had gen z wrapped around his neck, i wasn’t even the biggest fan of him but saw how he impacted everyone around my age at the time and the movement he was growing… when he died there was literally riots in 3 different cities. He was always into some crazy s***, music was unique yet still pulling numbers lol he was polarizing by definition

it only happens in waves, you think about 2010 newcomers then the 2016 newcomers they all came in waves

we have one right now with the rage beat artist but it’s not intersecting with a large majority… we might have to wait 3-4 years lol
