You have to actually do something that is going to impact their bottomline enough to get them to listen.
Again...the CEO already announced that the blackout is not impacting them enough and is more than willing to wait til it blows over. Which is going to happen whether you like it or not lol
would love to hear your suggestions on what can actually be done with it now that you mentioned. genuinely curious on that

how about a plan to migrate communities to somewhere besides reddit

I have no suggestions because I don't give a f*** about whatever the third-party app devs are b****ing and moaning about. Like niggas really protesting cause some tech nerds who already got money have to pay more in order to use an API....like the premise of the protest is f***in hilarious with how pointless it actually is lmao

One of these days people are gonna realize these social media companies are gonna continue to do whatever they want cause they got the money to withstand whatever it is the small minority of nerds complain about because there are way more people who don't care and are not impacted by changes.
That solution is better, but ultimately it's just gonna be people going from one s*** platform to another s*** platform. Nothing changes. And if they wanna go ahead and make a new platform, then it will only be a matter of time before that new platform starts having the same exact problems as the other platform because it's almost like it costs money to keep the platforms functioning.
The part that sucks is I use Google to search Reddit bc Google is f***ing trash and now you can’t cuz every sub is private
I’m tryna look for office chair recommendations and the f***ing chair subreddit is banned like cmon its not that serious dawg

If they really wanted to protest why not just stop using their accounts and reddit all together, im sure a bunch of new inactive users would hurt more than shutting down subreddits
that way the rest of us who aren't on some weird crusade in support of some nerds using another company's IP to make profit can still read sports news

Insane to me that people protest against protests
Some of u want to just rollover and let corporations do whatever the f*** they want
The protest might not actually do anything but it at least sends a message that we as consumers do not agree with reddits decision which is the important part

Funnily enough, I've just been seeing people use other subs related to the topic they're interested in because the popular one went black...like the s*** really ain't did nothing but give other subs a boost lol some users even went as far as to just make a new temporary community until the main sub is back.
I been seeing some mods of the popular subs that went black asking if they should continue the blackout in solidarity with the third-party apps, and majority of the users are telling the mods to f*** off and they're only there for news, advice, and memes

Also they know their communities better than we do. Sure this was an agreed and unanimous and democratic decision. Lmao we're outsiders
Yall complaining about this are opps
power to the protestors

Especially when Reddit is entirely user generated content. The ppl in power haven’t done s*** evidenced by third party apps outdoing them on their product for christ sake.

Reddit as a platform is great because it's one of the most easily accessible platforms for the sharing of content and information.
It's just unfortunately the majority of the Reddit community are f***in nerds who you likely would want to punch in the face. IE: the nerds brigading sub polls voting to keep them black even if they don't even use the subs.
lol just use baidu it’s pretty much the same as reddit
