    this i agree with

Yeah I think this is where we are differing. Like I get what OP and you are both saying but it doesn't apply for the least fortunate in our society, and we have a duty to care for them and create a society that caters to the needs of the many not the needs of the few.

When people start talking about how everything is your fault and you are entirely in control of your life I just cant help but get mad because they come across as utterly disconnected from the reality that millions of people are facing on a daily basis.

There's a man at the shelter I work for right now who worked for the city for 20 years, retired, and then had a stroke. The retirement insurance they provided him decided it was due to a pre-existing condition and denied him treatment. Now he's homeless. I would love to see OP look him in the eyes and tell him to just think more positive thoughts and manifest a better life.

I think we just fundamentally disagree with the idea that you are 100% in control of your life. A healthy person can control how they react. But we live in a sick society so to be well adjusted of that is no measure of a healthy person. I'm glad you succeeded but many people would have failed in that scenario.

i do agree with you on that, s*** is crazy sometimes.

Not everyone can react in a strong way. either by choice or not by choice.

I don't want to come off as i'm ignoring those people and their mental health at all!

What i'm saying is, in some cases, we can't ignore how people spend their time before s*** hits the fan (not the mentally ill people)

many/majority probably would sleep in, complain all day at work, go home, and watch netflix until 1 am. habits and how their daily routine leading up to it is where im getting at

of course when s*** hit the fan you won't have a harness if you didn't prepare for the worst

bro i have an absolutely wonderful life but I don't delude myself and others into thinking it's as simple as "just be happy to be happy" you bellend

I work at a homeless shelter helping the least fortunate people. To tell them "see the problem is that you're not manifesting your own happiness" would be akin to spitting in their faces. To tell anyone that is a huge oversimplification.

Love how you preach this positive self talk happiness s*** and then proceed to try and s*** all over the first person who calls you out on your bullshit.

There is so much more to living a successful happy life then mantras and positive self talk. To say anything other is pure ignorance.

enlightened being my ass ur acting a clown in your own thread

Yeah I came off aggressive but you were acting like you solved a f***ing puzzle when all you did was put two pieces together. Have some humility, understand it is not as simple as thinking positively, and move the f*** on. Just cuz you presented an idea that's as soft as butter doesn't mean you should get all butthurt over it.

How the f*** am I an existentialist btw? I'm literally in the s*** working with the homeless population in one of the poorest states in america. Deadass not reading and a***yzing anymore, simply doing. Helping people who are at rock f***ing bottom. And all you can do is reach at my race and gender in an attempt to bolster your own position? Like cmon breh, you're better than that.

Yo can you stop quoting me I do not give a f*** about what you do for work or anything that you have to say, I wanted to get input on the power of the mind from other users who know of its existence and importance

I did not come here to argue where it's an actual thing or not, it is real whether you like it or not and you are not gonna say anything to change anybody's mind

I'm really not sure what you're trying to accomplish here

  • Feb 24, 2020

also, what makes you think successful people and millionaires don't make jokes at their own expense? if they don't, do you think that may have something to do with the correlation between being rich/successful and an egotistical sociopath?

Literally every religious scripture, every philosopher, every successful person ever agrees that thoughts do in fact become reality. And it's still some 20 something year olds that think they have life figured out who chose to not believe it. Sad

Every philosopher lol? You know the materialism vs idealism debate is one of the oldest and biggest arguments in all of philosophy right lmao?

You fake woke people are so f***ing stupid lmao

oh great another 'just think positive thoughts' kind of bro

its not "just think positive thoughts" it takes work to manifest them after you think them. Its just that thinking something is the necessary first step before accomplishing anything. And the more fully you visualize your goals and how youll reach them, the more clearly youll know how to progress from there.

and i think negative thoughts can work in the same way.
