    BRAVE

Artists who are complete unknowns need albums to get off the ground

While I kinda agree it’s interesting I’ve seen industry people say there’s no point to dropping a project till u have momentum gained thru singles

    I can see both perspectives

you can build all that identity through MVs/social presence

if anything dropping an album kinda takes the wind out of some artists trajectory imo. theres a value to being mysterious & leaving people wanting

Yep cuz it could not really do s*** and now you blew your load for the next however many months

On the flip side it is hard to get into an artist if they don’t have much music out

I think EP’s are the sweet spot

    I agree

We first really started seeing this in the late 2000s/early 2010s when artist’s were putting everything they had into a mixtape that they treated like an album

Those mixtapes were the album but there probably wasn't a marketable hit
