Do any of you buy preowned consoles from places like ebay or gamestop?

Or is it better to just buy it brand new

Depends on the console. eBay is a safer bet in that you can buy from someone with a good feedback history.

for older consoles preowned should be fine, if you have a local game store it's probably better to buy from there if the prices aren't too bad

for current gen i just buy new but i imagine pre-owned would be fine too if you can get a good deal

Kinda sorta counts but kinda not really but I bought a brand new New Nintendo 3DS on eBay and well..... it was brand new and works as intended

Usually it's fine. I bought a used ps4 off someone I knew and then got a used pro from someone I didn't know for like 180 and it still runs well. Consoles literally just sit there and play s*** so it's pretty hard to f*** it up

Would be nice to go to the person's house if you're doing Craigslist type preowned. If the person's house is nasty they might have cockroaches in the console

Copped a ps vita for under 100 that's barely used. If you look around on eBay, you can find some good deals.

Preowned is usually fine. NEVER do refurbished tho. On anything really, not jus consoles.

With a case as well, plus 2 games Mario Tennis and that other Mario Xcom game came with it all for $250.

Refurbished is f***ing garbage bro. It’s essentially an item that was already broken/faulty and then “repaired” and resold. Except they’re never properly repaired and they’re resold in worse condition than they were in the first place. I’ve never willingly bought refurbished, but I’ve dealt wit it a lot because a lot of warranty plans replace your s*** wit refurbished. And from iPods to consoles to headphones to controllers, refurbished has been successful for me ZERO percent of the time. S*** is absolute garbage and a complete waste of time.
