One thing i haven't understood yet is the concept of Utopia. How the songs mean Utopia in any way? The theme park concept of astroworld was much more clear.
Gonna sound crazy but I think Flying Lotus could cook up fire trap beats for Trav
Would honestly love to hear it

Felt the same way but it’s still hard
Just went door to door in my hood asking everyone what they thought of Utopia…
Same except the hood is ktt and every door is every thread

The whole rollout made sense with the title, these ancient cultural artifacts from around the globe, playing at historical sites etc. Then the album dropped and it had nothing to do with the rollout

he said he isn’t trying to express anything substantial
obviously it’s a disappointment but i can’t judge him on something he never intended to do
pitchfork busy painting their own boxes again
Really interested to see the first week sales predictions for this. Feel like this album has been inescapable all day online
This sounds like a fully realized Days Before Rodeo with a journey in songs like Owl Pharaoh

Same publication that gave Whole Lotta Red a Best New Music btw
(Not a shot at Carti I love his music)

Honestly, with physicals shipping first week, I’d wager at least 400-450K

Yeah I don’t really like the he has nothing to say critique for music unless it was preaching about nothing or some fake deep s***

I think it’s a great example of how carti does have personality in a way that Travis doesn’t. You don’t need to have lyrical ass bars if you make up for it in some way

Utopia sounds cool as a title is really all there is to it

i hate how critics act like stuff like this affects the listening experience lol
picturing them getting frustrated like ‘i don’t know who travis is after this!!!’
Travis tried too hard to rap on here without just making good songs, rapping has never been his strength
I Know is the most well structured song on the whole thing and is a standout for a reason

journalists are so cringe like can you just tweet normally and not without a thesaurus pulled up on the other tab
