I wanna add something to the discussion and say that even though Trav isn't the most lyrical artist some of these songs do have his best lyrics / quotables.
Like yea he has some bad lines in here but good ones, Imma fan of his bars on Meltdown and most of Skitzo for example

Apparently the original instrumental + melody was created by Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), BJ Burton, and Dua Selah. They sent their demo to numerous artists, Amber (Japanese House) and Travis among them, and they both ended up using them on their respective albums, which is why Japanese House isnāt officially credited on My Eyes as a sample
