I feel as though rating albums this way takes away from things like cohesion, sequencing, overarching narratives etc. It's like rating every scene in a movie sorta, but every scene only means something based on what came before and what will come after.
(like is a 7 track near perfect album better than a 15 track album with one miss, the average would say so)
I dunno though, no hate or anything just a thought looking at this. and I'm thinking after typing this that most ppl don't care and just wanna get an idea based on each song.
I don’t agree with comparing albums to movies.
With movies; every scene, every camera movement, and every line of dialogue has a very specific motivation that feeds into the overarching story that takes place over the full movie, and many story beats created in the early parts of a movie aren’t resolved until the end.
Albums, on the other hand, are much different in that regard. There aren’t many albums that set up story beats/themes/song-elements in the first few songs that come back or resolve in the back end of the album.
In my opinion, comparing albums to TV shows make a whole lot more sense. Each episode contains a self contained story that can be watched on their own, but contain smaller elements that advance the entire story forward while keeping the theme of a season.
instead of
Album = movie
Scenes = Song
I think it makes more sense to say
Album = TV season
Episodes = Songs
Topia Twins should have been solo. Should have made it a fun goofy track like Jumbotron S*** Poppin.
I actually don't think 21 verse on Till Further Notice is bad, I just would have liked Blake x Travis alone more as the outro.
I agree on Till Further Notice but I still think his verse fits nicely. All they needed to do was just extend the slower, darker parts.
Topia Twins is perfect the way it is. S*** is fun, catchy and everyone did their part. Especially jetskiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Was Till further notice teased before release
21’s opening lines sounded familiar af like I heard it in a snippet before

Yes, you're right TV shows makes way more sense. And on that level, there's TV shows that follow a larger narrative and TV shows where each episode is self contained. Similar to how albums function.
I rate TV shows online but I also prefer to do that by season, I think ATP it's just preference. Was curious around that different process but it makes more sense now.
And on that idea, if I'm looking at a show where each episode is self contained I'd probably prefer to do episode by episode ratings; I guess the musical equivalent is mixtapes. Then with more through line narratives I'd do seasonal ratings (albums).
Man k-pop must be worst Travis song to date
I was about to name a worse track but you're right
Did you see Circus Maximus?
I feel like those who saw the music video for this song ended up liking the song a lot better
It’s so fire
Yes that scene was CRAZY.
Til further notice could have been left on Metro album or something
Ending on Telekinesis would have been
Man k-pop must be worst Travis song to date
Yea
Legit worse than Guidance

Idk how "Astro's" ranked higher than "Rodeo", but whatever.
You go to Trav solely off production alone.
He's a vibe.
I don't f*** with music like this normally, but what gravitates me to Trav is his song structuring & how atmospheric his production is.
Aside from that, he ain't saying s***.
