Yeah I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying add there Ice T too
NWA put that s*** to another level doe
I'm not disagreeing either. NWA created one of 4 albums from the 80s whose production has aged remarkably well (the other three being It Takes a Nation..., 3 Feet High and Rising, and Paul's Boutique). But I'm just giving credit where it's due.
Yeah they do. Clipse are legends.
they're "legends" in this small little rap niche lol true legendary groups transcend it

how old are you
this is just how somebody was talkin bout true classics and "ktt classics". so many albums this forum consider as classics aren't even mentioned irl

Nah, that's not it. Nobody besides hip hop fans know who Eric B & Rakim are, but if they didn't exist, hip hop would have never evolved into the golden age and possibly may not presently exist. Clipse certainly aren't as influential as Eric B & Rakim, but they influenced a lot of really dope artists who rose to prominence in the 2010s. Tyler, Drake, Brockhampton (they used to be good), Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, have all cited Clipse as an influence.

yeah, if you're talking to a bunch of out of touch losers maybe. Anyone who doesn't think "Grindin" is a classic rap song, let alone doesn't know it exists, honestly doesn't have enough knowledge of this genre to really talk about this s***. They're free to talk about it if they want, but I'm not taking them serious. Sue me.

Clipse can't hold a candle to Eric B & Rakim dog. don't even try to compare it. I understand that nobody besides hip hop fans know them, but their influence and importance are just too big to deny their legendary status.

They can't hold a candle, but they're still legendary. Not too many acts can match up to the impact of Eric B & Rakim

yeah i disagreed with dude too. but i'm also not gonna write clipse off either. they're far from an unmemorable act, they just aren't GOAT status. but that's fine

They really paved the way for ASAP Mob to shine, and were looking past the stupid constraints of "regional sounds" and were catalysts for making hip hop more of a melting pot musically. I don't think they're GOATs per se, but they're not far off tbh. Lot more impactful on modern rap than many generic GOAT picks are tbh
how old are you bro
I remember Grindin' bro I know that's the point you wanna make
