nelly never made anything as good as GRODT lol its deeper than popularity.

Country Grammar and Nellyville are cult classics. Sweat and Suit were good albums too. Nelly is definitely underrated.

not at all lol you just talking about popularity, nelly made good music sure and sure it was just as popular as 50 at one point but GRODT is one of the greatest rap albums oat

Yeah because NY media gets to hype up their own artist. This was before social media so magazines like The Source, Vibe, really dictated the culture. So Country Grammar isn’t as well?

That’s not conversation, I’m not doubting GRODT and it’s quality. My point is rappers from the Midwest/south didn’t get revered the same way as NY rappers (during early 2000s ofc).

To think that it’s laughable that Country Grammar doesn’t even belong in the discussion with GRODT. When objectively it holds its own shows to the N.Y. bias.

  • Jul 10, 2020

You have to go back in that time frame to really understand it. If someone was the king of NY then basically they were the king of rap.

Nelly was a chick rapper like Ja Rule
