I noticed that a lot of the "content" posted on Tik Tok can be boiled down to teenagers, who were born in like 2004, publicly rediscovering things that have been common knowledge tot he rest of the world for the better part of a decade, but presenting it as new information.

i.e. the "something new challenge" for instance.

We're at a point in time where the current demographic for these kinds of things has a frame of reference that stops at like 2009. And that's starting to reflect in the music.

i remember putting CDs on hold waiting weeks for it to be available from the library and ripping them for the music files just to sync them them on my ipod nano

now i just pay 5 bucks a month to listen to Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde (older music in general) on demand and have it DL on my phone
