We are an interdependent, globally connected species that is on a warpath to killing itself because we are conditioned to worship individual excellence over collective well-being. Pro athletes provide absolutely nothing of material value to the public and sports are a cheap and derivative form of entertainment. They are suffering from Peter Pan syndrome and need to become productive members of society as they are no longer children.
