Em in his prime was just better than Jay tbh better than almost everybody, tbf
Lol. Nas, Andre 3000, Mos, Ghostface, Common and others were better at the time
they're about the same for me
probably my favorite em behind role model s***s actually crazy idc
but hov was going in too my goat
Oh yeah how we could forget Eminem amazing topics like raping and assaulting women, edgy jokes, outdated pop culture references and exposing his own family on countless songs, yeah wow so many great topics, he is the goat, MMLP is better than Me Against The World and Illmatic!!
Lmao
toy soldiers, rock bottom, deja vu, sing for the moment, white america, stan, soldier, mockingbird, when im gone, yellow brick road, we as americans, if I had, going through changes, beautiful, marshall mathers, way I am, say goodbye to hollywood, till I collapse, 8 mile, run rabbit run, mosh, superman...
these are just top of the head, just because he made horrorcore doesn't mean it's the majority of his catalogue
Just say you dont fw the music and keep it moving
Em murdered Jay on his own s***.
And it was an em old verse for Royce i hear
Renegade was originally a Em and Royce song, most people to this day still don’t know that lol
you gotta really hate whites to say jay had a better verse
Whoa...Chill with the race bait.
A lot of people who say Hov had the better verse are actually pushing the Nas/Jay beef if anything.
Lol. Nas, Andre 3000, Mos, Ghostface, Common and others were better at the time
Only Nas. 3 Stacks a GOAT but he was barely rapping like that at that time.

beef been dead. jay won with ease
to sit here and say em didn't come out on top in renegade in 2021 gotta be some other s***

Em had a much better delivery. I agree.
But, in terms of strictly lyrics, they honestly weren't that far off. Hov was spitting a lot of great lines and even had a quotable that still gets used today("Do you fools listen to music or just skim through it?")
Em was better in terms of the whole presentation but the gap wasn't really as huge as Nas made it out to be on Ether.
And, from my experience lurking other rap forums like The Coli or Boxden, it really is mainly Nas stans and Jay stans that like to debate this more than anything else. Maybe not on KTT but you get the point.
Edit: Wait. Did you say Jay "won" the beef? Lmao! Just stop. Even Hov himself will tell you he lost the beef. That's like saying Drake "won" against Pusha T.
Em needs to forget about the haters and make a better than good album. Haters won't listen anyway, and he has more than enough listeners.

It is the majority of his catalogue bro lmao
Check the tracklists of SSLP, MMLP and Relapse which are his 3 good sounding albums. His rapping/flow was good but the majority of his topics were completely trash. On TES there were too many whack beats, I liked the direction he was taking topic wise but he should have used more Dre and Bass brothers production, or should have look for other producers.
I can’t take Eminem seriously as an artist, if I want to play his “good” albums I end up skipping most of the songs because I’m not a teenager anymore, I don’t wanna listen to a 28+ old man making those stupid jokes and talking about raping and hurting women.
yeah it's beyond music at this point lol. if I don't f*** with an artist Im not gonna give it more attention by being on every thread about him/her
there's no denying that he was an outstanding rapper in his heyday... content is a matter of taste, that whole horrorcore shtick with a goofball/peter pan syndrome kind of twist was the lane he felt most comfortable in and he absolutely owned that s***, none of his clones can hold a candle to him because they're nowhere near as entertaining and charismatic, on top of that he has quite a few songs with serious/personal topics, dude's actually pretty versatile
I get that his music isn't everyone's cup of tea but I feel like most of it just turned into hating and nitpicking, ppl are trying so hard to exclude him from the goat conversation because he's white and a lot of his s*** is horrorcore/comedy rap, like jesus, ofc he was saying crazy s***, that was his f***in lane... nothing wrong with horrorcore, not everyone has to be a conscious rapper, that would be f***in terrible...
Would be cool if he didn't talk about the same thing on many other songs
Dont really care bro I listen to pusha y talk about shipping imaginary dope on every track
And how tf does he know that the do-gooders didn't do well at mariage?
people marriages fail for many reason's, he should know that, he failed twice 💀
So people have to be either perfect in every aspect of their lives or are completely "deranged" trash like his slim Shays gimmick? 💀
his line of thinking was/is juveline- his raps are really full of attempts at getting under peoples skin (he admitted this several times too) but y'all gobble up the poor defense that it's satire/comedy (he isn't good at it, let it go)
Nigga take that stick out your ass.
Dont really care bro I listen to pusha y talk about shipping imaginary dope on every track
Yeah but no one really calls Pusha top 5 OAT
Yeah but no one really calls Pusha top 5 OAT
Like i said idc about any of that. Prime eminem belongs in that convo even tho he’s far away for me personally
It is the majority of his catalogue bro lmao

i see where you are coming from but those are 3 out of 11 (not sure how many lol) studio albums and even if you go thru those you mention you find there are still a number of tracks where he doesn't reference any of the stuff you were boxing him in and is actually spitting some real s***
Not mad at somebody saying they outgrew the horrorcore aspect of Em but it's purely subjective you know? I've always been into horror movies (mainly giallo) so when i hear a song like 97 Bonnie and Clyde or a rapper like Big L it's the same thing but just in a different art form. I think there is some great qualities in Em's storytelling and the sounds he uses in those songs (Again, some hit and some don't)
Relapse is prob my fav album by him even tho i agree the subject matter is rather repetitive at times
Oh yeah how we could forget Eminem amazing topics like raping and assaulting women, edgy jokes, outdated pop culture references and exposing his own family on countless songs, yeah wow so many great topics, he is the goat, MMLP is better than Me Against The World and Illmatic!!
Say you dont listen to Eminem without saying you listen to Eminem 🖕
Art is art no matter how "Edgy" it might sound.
Take the song Kim for an example. It might be edgy, disturbing etc. No matter the content we cant disregard the emotions Em painted in that song. Few rappers have made a song as detailed as that song. That song is pure genius no matter how you look at it.
Dont give a f*** what y'all say about Em, most people that critic em lose all credibility to me because 99% of the time they aint got nothing valid to say besides their personal vendetta towards him.

100% agree with this
horrorcore is like any horror/slasher movies, from Halloween to The House on Sorority Row. like you said, if thats not your cup of tea that's cool but it's not right to use these types of raps and lyrics as means to discredit an artist because it's just as valid as any form of expression imo
he is versatile, even 20+ into his career he still finds some mature and different topics to rap about (like Darkness or Headlights). even if i don't like parts of album sonically, MMLP2 has some of his best writting, where he showed some pretty introspective/reflective side of him
It is the majority of his catalogue bro lmao

I wonder what you guys wanted him to rap about lol he was rapping about his life and fun s***, cause back in the days people had sense of humour.
