I remember it being pre streaming days (or at least I wasn't using streaming services yet)...stayed up til like 2 in the morning, burned it to a cd, and played it on my walkman first listen was some wild s*** that truly just kept knocking me on my ass
Classic memories man
Critics didnt rate it highly as tpab dawg
Why do you think that is? You're so close. I can only show you the door, you have to walk through it boi
I just want niggas to be honest about MM. Not every Kendrick album will be universal classic, Pulitzer prize winner level and that's okay. The people who hated TPAB on release were just wrong. But people pretend like niggas who are critical of MM "just don't get it" and will come around eventually when maybe the album simply isn't as good so it won't ever have the same turnaround in reception that TPAB did
Opinions =/= bullshit
Alright bro
Nah @insertcoolnamehere explained it pretty well. My bad
Nice. Probably his 'best' album though GNX has taken that spot now
My opinion not to different from this one. Still think TPAB is the best, but it transcended into it's own category
Then GNX took over the top spot
yess i been wanting this moth cover variant

Mr Morale is too long and messy with moments of brilliance throughout. It's a well made album overall but I rarely go back to it because of the heaviness. I'm sure he wasn't trying to make an easily re-playable album though. You really have to be in the mood to appreciate it. Some albums are just like that.
LukeKTT leaking King Kunta will live in my head rent free for the rest of my life
Glad I’m still in your head
this album changed....absolutely nothing, didnt introduce a new sound, sonically boring, the Tupac boner is a bit weird, culturally relevant in only some spaces (mostly RYM & online hip-hop spaces).
Alright was an alright song, definitely a black millennial bop! Also doesnt crack my top 2 Kendrick (he hasnt topped GKMC imo)
this album had the reverse affect on me than it had on most people. i loved this s*** when it first came out but now it’s my least favorite kendrick album
Kendrick’s only classic according to Cole
he said this s*** put niggas to sleep but they gassed it lol which is insane coming from Cole of all people
i'll start off by sayin this my favorite k.dot album the concepts, the storytelling, the production, the guest features everything on this album was on point. also i feel this was a big risk sophomore project to put out after GKMC and the trap dominated hip hop music in 2015 kendrick boldy put out a conscious jazzy g-funk neo soul hip hop album out which at the time didnt resonate with most of the younger audience (i was 24 when it dropped and loved it then) but the older hip hop heads gave it much praise. everything that came after the project the performances kendrick gave on daytime/nighttime TV shows, the project Lebron James pushed to get released in Untitled Unmastered was amazing Happy 10th anniversary to this album I feel old sayin that lol.
Still wonder what complexion would’ve sounded like if he got prince on it instead of rapsody like he originally planned

I remember that, prince turned him down cause he only worked with people who owned their masters or something like that

Prince asked him to come to his estate with the intention of making music. While there I guess prince had a album release performance and asked kendrick to come out and perform with him. After that kendrick said he forgot about the track, so it just didn't end up happening
