Tomb Raider and Uncharted games are basically riffs on Indiana Jones. Why make them into films, when the OG already exists?
Unless you can do something really unique with either franchise, just don't even bother touching them.
Beats them gender swapping Indiana Jones
they love making reboots so it'll be out in 3 years or less
Make a Logan-style Tomb Raider movie with Angelina Jole. Don't tie it in with any other films what-so-ever. Just do a rough, beautiful, emotional tale about an older Lara.
Have Uwe Boll direct. Give him full control. Watch the box office explode.
I actually remember liking the 2018 one but I remember literally nothing about it
Beats them gender swapping Indiana Jones
I feel like the second there is a male to female swap, they completely do not care about the writing quality.
Somebody gone reboot it and cast Zendaya as Laura Croft
When Zendaya has to gain weight and get a lil thick for the role
I mean Indiana Jones is a riff off franchises from Scrouge Mcduck(Jones most iconic scene is stolen from him) to Alan Quartmaine but that didn't stop them from making him.
An idea doesn't need to be totally original to have value and everything is a riff of something.
True that's why i said only make it if you can do something special with it. Not this templated run of the mill bs.

They need to follow the recent reboot trilogy of the games where Lara is an actual person and not a s***object (she’s not sexualized at all in the new trilogy, compared to everything else in the franchise). In the new games the adventures give her depression and PTSD and it’s just really compelling storytelling. Dark and gritty reboots get kinda played out by now, but it works for the story in Tomb Raider. It’s not a silly, wise cracking adventure like Uncharted. It gets f***ing dark
I want it to die

I'd watch that
It’s crazy to me how they can’t make a good tomb raider or uncharted movie. It seems like one of the easiest ips to do right.

the games simply feel more passionate that’s why
I'd watch that
Yeah I mean just watch the trailer in OP to get a feel of how good the series could be
i want the series to end and for hollywood to stop butchering every established ip by milking it for every dollar they can

More info on what happened with MGM:
MGM had a May 1 deadline for when principal photography needed to begin on a “Tomb Raider” sequel, according to the deal signed by the studio in 2013. But insiders who spoke to TheWrap cited a large production budget on the latest version of writer-director Misha Green’s script that delayed plans, along with disagreements over the script between the star, Alicia Vikander, and Green.
