This the type of movie where you can’t help but have a big dumb grin on your face at parts
practically recreating the opening at the start really got my hyped up for the film. the first one has that 80s cheese but is so visually interesting with great characters and this one takes a stepback on the cheese and has the same feeling of raw enjoyment. genuinely impressed by the whole thing. miles teller copied anthony edwards comedic feeling, and val kilmer did absolutely wonderful in his role. tom cruise still got it! i loved this movie from the opening credits to the end credits both copying the exact feeling of the original. if you are in this thread and haven't seen it, you have two days until top gun is off netflix. you have to see it before you see this. seeing both on back to back nights really elevates the experience of this one.
Songs been stuck in my head since yesterday

ehhh like he doesn't NEED to see it, but there's more direct references to the OG 1 than just that, even down to plot structure and s*** lol
crazy how this director has a movie coming out next month on Netflix with Miles Teller and Chris Hemsworth and there’s little to no buzz about it
