wayne doesn’t have an album that conveys overall concepts outside of maybe rebirth which is a dogshit album
Oh so yall mean TAPE wise and not just like songs that display artistry?

we’re talking artist wise bro
Still can hold it up lyrically but artistically he really fell off. The song structures feel stagnant, kinda lost his ear for production, and just doesn’t make solid music all around nowadays. Which is why his music’s replay value diminishes fairly quickly

I mean song wise he still displays lyrical and artistry depending on where you looking for/at, but I agree. Also, how far in the career are you looking into

I mean if we talking songs he has songs displaying that such as Dr. Carter for example. If you mean tapes then I can agree for the most part

true artistry means u can arrange and construct songs in a way that builds a great tape. 4min runtime isnt enough to prove ur creativity

For example Dr. Carter is a great example of his. Tape wise though I can agree that he isn't too artistic, but there's a reason behind it

whats the rzn
I feel like Kevin Gates is an artist that does pretty well in both categories, I think hes a better lyricist than most people give him credit for and he also creates songs that just sound great imo
as much as i love wayne most of his albums are more like playlists
There's actually a reason behind it (that I agree with and don't agree with) on why his albums post 2008 sound like playlists.
Mack Maine on Wayne's latest tape:
"On this one, he sent the songs back, put asterisks by the joints that had to go on it. But that was still more than 24. That’s still not narrowed all the way down. We’ll go back and forth. I’ll be like, “I know this demographic of your fan base is going to like that.” He has a certain demographic that’ll like “Bastard (Satan’s Kid).” He has a certain demographic that’ll like “Never Mind.” The “Mahogany,” “Funeral,” “Mama Mia,” and “I Do It,” I know some of them are going to be almost for his whole fan base. But then some of them, they like when he gets dark. Some of his fans like when he gets introspective. Then you got some joints where he goes in there and he’s spitting, and you could be like, that’s for the day one fans, they gon’ like that."
Mack usually puts his tapes together while Wayne gets involved here and there as well. Wayne is usually constantly rapping and making songs. Funeral had 100s of songs that got cut to 50-60s, and then cut to 24.
That might explain why it sounds like a playlist
@Hieo_ this might explain why his tapes as of late are like that, its just how he's been. So I think its his nature to be a constant rapping machine. So I can agree he isn't artistic as far as tapes are concerned but he has shown artistic approaches to songs of his.

so u cant call the man an artist when dude shotguns 100+ songs and someone else picks a few for him. still a great rapper

I was confused on artistic on songs or full on tapes. Full on tapes I can agree he isn't, but songs I would say he has since he has a lot in his discography
Like Wayne is artistic but I wouldn't put him in Top 10 in terms of Artistry. But lyricist/rapping he 100% is
Wayne slander 🤣 Exposing your lack of nuance
diff rappers are good at diff things
wayne can spit better than ye even though hes a worse artist
