Nope, just because a person isn’t famous doesn’t mean they can’t be a top level lyricist

His production is overhated as well.

Most artists today have better production than Nas but cant make an album as good as his classics.

Yall overrate those aspects bc you can make a classic song with a mid or bad beat and a trash song with a great one. You dont always need both to create great songs or music.

Top level artist are more impactful tho. Top level lyricist are really only appreciated by a certain group of fans and other rappers. Top level artists will reach everyone.

@Hieo_ @kiorren this is what I was trying to get at regarding song making, not album cohesiveness. He's lacking in that department cause he doesn't entirely care for it cause he's just busy non stop rapping like the machine he is which is impressive in its own right

He IS lacking in the creative vision for a tape that his peers like Kanye have. Which in turn has him constantly putting out features, loosies, mixtapes, etc in the process cause he's always rapping.

Wayne has said before if given a topic to a song he will stick to it, otherwise he will just rap bar for bar on the s***.

His closest thing to an actual thought out tape post-C3 is honestly C5 regardless of if you guys liked it or not

By artist we consider all aspects of making music (Beat, song structure, melody, hooks, etc.) rapping is just one aspect of it

the concept songs and s*** with substance wayne has more than shows artistic capability, y’all don’t want to admit it because he isn’t out there rapping on f***ing EDM beats

This. Most rap fans have that "talking over a beat" mentality and gas anyone that brings the bells and whistles to a song.

Some of the greatest hip hop songs of all time are great because of the writing and not primarily bc of the melody or beat.

The past decade has really diluted what it means to be a Rap Artist imo.
