Love Life UtopiaJail should be about rehabilitation, this is yet again another clear example of the system falling our black men and people of color in general. Instead of helping him learn what he did wrong and direct him towards facets that can lead him to be a better person, they’d rather lock him away in confinement.
Instead of saying “fuck that nigga” we should be learning about how this form of treatment is totally inhumane, not just for Tory, but for everyone who can’t defend themselves like he can and have even longer sentences for smaller offenses. He’s got the best on his team, and still can’t be heard? Come on now
It’s a f***ed up situation and I’m not supporting him or anything that happened, just from being to jail multiple times I already know he’s being treated unfairly and used as an example due to his profile
Tory Lanez is a grown entitled rich dirtbag who literally shot a woman in his 30s while sitting on millions of dollars in a perfectly comfortable life. We're not talking about a working class black man or a kid here, there's nothing materially inhibiting the guy from knowing not to shoot a woman in the f***ing foot. Prison abolition is not an argument used to defend bourgeois abusers, of any color. I support prison abolition wholesale but Tory isn't an example of "the system failing". The system fails when working class black folks are hunted like animals in their own community, not when a selfish rich a****** shoots a woman because he can't get any p****.

Had a chance with a plea deal he would've done half of what he's currently facing and woulda most likely (due to good behavior) not have had to do all of those years either. Tory decided to decline that.
Decided to go against his team's advice numerous times during said case and was advised not to try to put the blame on Kelsey. Tory decided to do the opposite lol.
Tory's history of violence/putting guns up to people MULTIPLE times (for people that bring up Lil Uzi Vert to prove a point, besides lack of footage, reputation of not doing that makes people give them a leeway
). That's on Tory. Bro got no one to blame but himself.
He's also not in a material situation where reckless behavior is a natural byproduct of those conditions. He is a rich grown man who is a successful recording artist. He could have paid for his own goddamn therapy the whole time if he needed to. The struggle of the black working class is an oasis of difference from the black bourgeoisie even if there's clearly racial overlap.
