I’ve been in a funk and keep feeling like I’m stuck an infinite loop of monotony. Today I realized that I have no commitments outside of work. I can work from home 2 days out of the weekday. I just graduated college and have been living at home while I stash my salary for the future. I’ve realized I’m fortunate enough to be in a place where I could do a 4 day trip at least once a month, and then I want to do a longer trip every now and then. I’ve never been anywhere outside of my state except florida, mexico, and ATL. Has anyone done any solo traveling? How do you like it? What are some cool places to travel to in and out of the US?

Go to Japan if you have the chance
Go to Japan if you have the chance
That’s the first long trip I have on my list! :)
That would probably be later in February though
The way I’d want to break it down is probably like somewhere cool in the US or in the same continent once a month or every other month for a 4 day trip. Then do a 1-2 week trip to a foreign country every 4 months or so.

go to canada (banff + vancouver) for like a short 4 day trip. it's close and fun.
mexico too, but not Cancun or Quintana Roo (too touristy). Check out Chiapas or Oaxaca.
for longer trips, not everything open but.. here's a few ideas
1. europe: spain/portugal/france/italy
2. thailand/vietnam/cambodia
3. ethiopia/kenya/tanzania/south africa
there's a million cool places out there so I highly recommend going. even by urself it can be super fun n u meet a f***ton of new people if u stay in hostels.

go to south east asia. you might come out of there with a wife if you not careful. dating and meeting women there is so easy. s*** is pretty cheap there and the vibe there is crazy. s*** is popping every night.

Skip Japan. Overrated.
Italy and France are fun.
I think Japan is fun if you can go with some people. Going solo you just gonna be isolated the entire time unless that's what you like.

Nice, definitely gonna ask more in a bit, but in terms of safety…
Obviously one has to be cautious and practice common sense, but how dangerous is it really to solo travel? What are some of the best and some of the worst places to do this?
