Pierre is so talented. So many of those beats were 2-4 bar loops that didn't get repetitive and had their own distinct sound. Arm and Leg, Molly, Flatbed Freestyle, Kids are all amazing beats but they probably took him like 15 minutes to make

2017-2019 was peak Carti IMO, I'll get hate for this but WLR wasn't that great outside of a few songs. It all started to go downhill with the extreme baby voice.

he just tried different things. it didn't always pay off and yes I think the s/t is still unsurpassed, but he's remained an interesting artist even if all these new songs he dropped this year aren't amazing. WLR had enough all-timers on it that I was satisfied.
