Jul 10, 2020zeniramai know this thread is a joke but hearing loss in relation to being a musician sucks and it scares you every day, i constantly worry about the fact that i have to listen to music on full volume now and i’m only 22. feel for travis if he’s at this point
fr man, i find myself having my audio interface up all the way to the max volume and have to remind myself what has happened to all the old aging rockstars who are deaf now from the exact same thing
its hard not to turn it up when the s*** bumps

F*** that, never any reason not to wear hearing protection. I literally use ballistic headphones when I record most of the time, if not that then earplugs. I might already have minor tinnitus (not sure whether it’s tinnitus or the “sound current” and I can only hear it when there’s complete silence) and I’m not about to make it any worse.
Bad tinnitus is literally a death sentence, and there’s no working cure. I would rather kill myself than go deaf or have deafening tinnitus, which is essentially the same thing,
